Story: I have loved Mokume Gane ever since I first saw it. Essentially, it is about combining two or more metals to create a wood grain texture. In this piece I have combines Sterling Silver with Copper and then added a patina to age the copper. This helps the copper to pop into the piece. Because of the process, no two pieces will ever be alike, which also appeals to me. Read my Blog called “What is Mokume Gane” to learn more. https://silverfinchjewelrydesign.com/blog
Materials: For this piece, I used 950 Sterling Silver and Copper Metal Clays. The back of the cross is Sterling Silver because some people are sensitive to Copper.
Measurement: The cross measures 1 1/4″ in width and length. It hangs on a 20″ Sterling Silver chain.
Care: Use your jewelry cloth to keep the shine.
Meaning: The cross is a sign of Christ and of the faith of Christians.
