I made this ring out of my dismay at the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs Wade pushing women back at least 70 years.

I remember the days when women had to go to unsavory places to get abortions in back rooms. It breaks my heart.

This is not about my personal feelings about abortion, but it is about my feelings of women’s rights being taken away.

Love is Greater than Hate

Desmond Tutu

I had to turn my thoughts to something positive. The words from Desmond Tutu, and indeed my priest, The Reverand David Taylor, came bounding into my being: Love is Greater than Hate. It feels like hate for girls and women of all ages.

It would be a mistake to underestimate the ingenuity of women’s strength, might, and force. We have been named and acknowledged for centuries, yet there are still people among us who would hold us down.

Turning Negative into Positive

As a jeweler, my thoughts went into making something beautiful that I would be proud to wear.

This ring represents and celebrates ancient women, our ancestors. It celebrates their strength, beauty, and uniqueness.

You have to turn the ring around to appreciate all of the women on this ring. I have included many pictures on my website. Be sure to check them out!

Making the Ring Personal

My thought to make this ring personal is to add your favorite gemstone or birthstone to the ring. Right now it is made with three dots. I like dots, but this can be altered with dots and gemstones or three small gemstones. To fit, the gemstone(s) would need to be small, but this could personalize it.

About the Ring

The ring is made with 960 Sterling Silver and is 3/8″ wide. Do let me know if you would like to have this ring made in your size.
